The difference between Jumolhari Base camp Trek and Jumolhari round trek is the route we take. Base camp trek is the trek till Jangothang and we return the same way. Jumolhari Round trek starts from Paro and ends at Dodena the capital City Thimphu covering some parts of Jigme Dorji National Park.

Trek Cost Starts from $3220.00 Per person.
The cost is based on single person trip. It will be cheaper for group taking the Jumolhari trek.

Jumolhari Base Camp Trek cost during Peak Seasons. (March, April, May, September )

The tour cost starts from US$10540.00 per person. The exact cost will depend on number of people travelling in Groups.

  • A GROUP SIZE DISCOUNT of 50% on minimum daily package shall be given to one person in a group of 11 people. 100% discount shall be given to one member in a group exceeding 16 persons.
  • A 50% DURATION DISCOUNT on SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT FEE shall be provided after the 8th night and 100% discount on SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT FEE shall be provided after 14th night.
  • 100% SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT FEE FREE ZONE DISCOUNT shall be provided on SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT FEE on first and/or last night for groups with night halt in Phuntsholing, Sarpang and Samdrup Jongkhar on arrival and/or departure

Bhutan Visa:

Your visa must be processed by a licensed Bhutanese tour operator as it will be verified by the Tourism council of Bhutan (TCB) and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

  • You have to provide your passport copy, proof of occupation and address to your respective tour operator who will process your visa online directly when the full portion of your tour payment is wire transferred and deposited in the TCB account along with a visa fee of USD 40 apart from the fee mentioned above to Tourism Council of Bhutan.
  • Then your visa approval letter will be sent to Ministry of Foreign Affairs which takes 72 hours to process the visa.
  • And after the approval, you will be provided with a visa clearance letter which has to be shown at the port of entry. Then the visa will be stamped on your passport.
  • Your visa will be provided as per your exact number of days in Bhutan and if you want to extend your stay, you can ask you tour operator to do so with extra tariff.

 Flights:

Bhutan does not have any direct flights from USA, Canada and European nations. In the event that you wish to venture out to Bhutan from USA, Canada or any European countries, you need to travel to Delhi/Kolkotta in India or Kathmandu in Nepal or Singapore or Bangkok to interface your trip into Bhutan.

Your flights to Bhutan is one of the most amazing flights in the Himalayas. Only few pilot are trained to land on this small strip of Paro International Airport. If Pilot announces of little turbulence than better brace yourself for euphoric bumpy ride towards the airport. Upon arrival our team will assist you with luggage and give you the briefing about the tour program.

After lunch visit the small town of Paro and explore the market. This will give you enough time for acclamstisation.

The extraordinary view of Tiger nest temple will mesmerize you. More exciting will be to hike the Temple itself. Today you start the hike early in the morning.From the base the hike takes 2 hours of uphill trail through pinewood forest. The routes may be dusty and facemask to cover your nose will be better.

The monastery clings to the edge of a sheer rock cliff that plunges 900m above Paro overlooking the beautiful valley. Built in 16th century the legend has it that Guru the tantric mystic who brough Bhudhism to Bhutan meditated in this Cave for 3 months. In the afternoon visit the Paro Rinpong Dzong followed by wooden bridge. Over night at Hotel.

Beautifull Trek begins from the well known Drugyel Dzong following the crystal clear Paro river passing through small villages. The forest are filled with numerous birds and brightly colored butterflies.

Over night at Camp Shana.

Walking Distance: 14KM takes about 5 to 6 Hours.

Day 04. 2nd Day of Bhutan trek from Shana to Thangthangka:

Your days starts with hiking through heavily forested area with remote nomadic herds. We pass a junction enroute where another trail leads north over the Tremo La Pass towarss Tibet where Bhutanse use to trade in olden days. Today we camp here in a meadow with stone shelter.

Camp Altitude: 3610M
Walking Distance: 21Km and 8 Hours walking time.

Day 05. 3rd Day of Bhutan Trek from Thangthangka – Jangothang:

Todays we leave the forest area and eneter the wide valley where we come across the Yak herds man camp at Tegethang. Your lunch will be served in one of this herdman Camp.

As we move further we climb Lots of yaks will be seen today before we arrive at the Jhomolhari base camp (4,115 m). High mountains overlook the camp and visible nearby are the ruins of an old fortress used to guard Bhutan against Tibetan invasions.

Camp Altitude:4115 m.
Walking Distance: 15 Km; Time 5 - 6 hours.

Day 06: 4th Day of Bhutan Trek at Jangothang (Halt):

Today we shall take full rest. Jangothang is also the location where yearly mountain festival is being celebrated every year. A chance to walk up to the Jhomolhari glacier or to the Tsho Phu lakes on the opposite direction.

Day 07. 5th Day of Bhutan Trek from Jangothang – Thangthangka:

We return the same way. It’s a leisure walk towards Thanthangka.

Walking Distance: 21Km and 8 Hours walking time.

Day 08. 6th Day of Bhutan Trek from Thangthangka – Shana:

We walk more leisurely here exploring the mountains of Bhutan and taking the phographs. Camp at Shana.

Day 09. Last Day of Bhutan Trek from Shana - Paro – Thimphu (End of Trek):

Our transport will be waiting (at Drukgyal Dzong) to take us to Thimphu, capital of Bhutan. It takes two hours drive to Thimphu. Over night at Hotel.

Day 10. Thimphu:

Thimphu is the Capital city of Bhutan and only capital without traffic light. White gloved policeman controls the smooth flow of the vehicle. About 60000 people resides this small city. Your tour starts with visit to Takin preservation centre followed by short hike from Takin centre to Children Park. Visit the 13th Arts and Craft School where live skills by the student is showcased. Visit 19th century Folk heritage museam.

After lunch visit the Simply Bhutan museum and in the evening visit to the Tashichho Dzong, seat of the national government and the Central Monastic Body, including the summer residence of the Je Khenpo (Chief Abbot of Bhutan). The Tashichho Dzong is open to visitors only in winter when the Je Khenpo and the Monk Body move to Punakha the ancient winter capital of Bhutan. We finally visit the Handicrafts Emporium, which has all types of Bhutanese handicrafts for sale.

Day 11. Thimphu- Punakha:

(72 Kms, 3 hours drive). Your cultural tour of Bhutan starts with visit to the old capital of Bhutan. On the way stop at Dochula pass which showcase the 360degree view of the snow capped Himalayas Mountain. Further drive will reach you at the temple of Devine Madman called Chimi Lhakhang (FertilityTemple).


After lunch visit the mighty Dzong built in 1637 located between two river(male and Female) and the Longest suspension bridge(180m) in Bhutan connecting Punakha Dzong with many small village across the river. Your Punakha Tour gets over and Overnight at Hotel.

Day 12. Punakha – Thimphu:

After early breakfast beautiful Hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyel Monastery will be the highlight of visit to Punakha. The trail is about 2 hours through paddy field and pinewood forest. The monastery is located on a small hilltop over looking north of Punakha.


After lunch drive to Thimphu. Visit the tallest standing Bhudha 150ft high. Evening stroll the thimphu town. Over night in Hotel.

Day 13. Paro - Airport:

Your tour of Bhutan ends today. Our guide will drive you to airport and bid you farewell. Early morning, drive to the airport and farewell.
